Terms of Service

Please review the conditions governing electronic signatures, cryptographic verification reports, and subscription services on Signful.

Last updated: September 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Signful (including signful.co and associated subdomains, APIs, and services), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are entering into these terms on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind such entity.

2. Electronic Signatures & ESIGN / UETA Compliance

Signful provides technical infrastructure to facilitate electronic signatures in compliance with the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN Act, 15 U.S.C. § 7001 et seq.) and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA). By submitting an electronic signature or completing a signing request, parties agree to conduct business electronically. Signful records signer identity, timestamps, and an HMAC-chained audit trail to substantiate signature integrity.

3. Cryptographic Verification & Disclaimers

Signful's PDF verification engine inspects cryptographic structures including ByteRange coverage, digital signature hashes, PKI certificate chains, and document revisions. Verification verdicts (such as VALID, INVALID, CERTIFICATE_UNTRUSTED, or UNSUPPORTED) reflect automated cryptographic determinations under PDF standards. They do not constitute formal legal opinions, judicial certifications, or endorsements of document contents.

4. Acceptable Use & Security Caps

You agree not to: (a) upload malicious files, malware, viruses, or decompression bombs; (b) attempt to bypass verification quotas or rate limits; (c) use automated scrapers to extract confidential verification reports; or (d) use the service to commit fraud, impersonation, or forgery. Signful enforces strict upload caps (25 MB file size, 100 pages per document, 25 recipients per envelope) and reserves the right to terminate abusive accounts immediately.

5. Subscriptions, Billing & Cancellations

Paid plans (Starter, Business, and Team) are billed on a recurring monthly subscription basis via Stripe. Quotas reset at the start of each UTC calendar month. You may upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time using the self-service Stripe Customer Portal in your dashboard. Cancellations take effect at the conclusion of the current billing cycle without prorated refunds.

6. Data Retention & Purging

We adhere to strict automated retention policies as detailed in our Privacy Policy. Anonymous verification uploads are purged after 7 days. Envelopes on free tiers are subject to a 30-day cold storage purge. You are responsible for retaining independent permanent copies of executed documents and audit trails.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Signful and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or contract enforceability disputes between signing parties. Our total liability for any claims arising out of these terms shall not exceed the amount paid by you to Signful in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

8. Governing Law & Contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles. For legal notices, terms inquiries, or dispute inquiries, contact us at legal@signful.co.
